1M Autumn 2018

Wow! It has been a busy first half term in 1M! We have been working hard and learning lots! Take a look at just some of the exciting things we have been learning about in our class...

Topic

Our topic for this half term has been 'Castles and Dragons'. We have been getting letters through our special time portal from King Richard the Lion heart who has been asking us to help him to design castles and shields. We even got to visit a real life castle!

Talk For Writing

This half term we have been rehearsing the story of 'The Three Little Pigs.' We have spent lots of time retelling the story, acting it out, drawing story maps, and developing our vocabulary, before imagining our own stories based on this classic tale. Take a look at some of our story maps...

RE Day

This half term's special RE day was all about Judaism. We looked closely at the Jewish festival of Sukkot. We learnt about why Jewish people celebrate, how they celebrate, and who they celebrate with. We loved learning all about the special huts (Sukkahs) and had a go at building them ourselves. We held a Lulav and talked about what we are thankful for in our lives.
