2C Autumn Term 2019
Welcome to 2C!
We have had a brilliant start to the year. Come find out what we have been learning.....
English
This term we have been writing traditional tales and fables in the style of ‘The Frog and the Scorpion’ and ‘The Hare and the Tortiose’ and are currently writing a letter to the teacher based on ‘Dear Teacher’. The story follows a young boy who has been writing to the teacher making excuses for why he won’t be at school in September. Our own letters have involved saving a princess from a tower, stopping crime and saving the Crown Jewels and quests to find magical potions to save the world!

Maths
This term we have been learning the place value of 2 digit numbers and how to partition in different ways, learning our times tables, estimating and measuring lengths using cm and using positional language to give instructions. We use chilli challenge and mastery monkey to stretch our learning and use the outdoor areas to think out maths and apply our skills in different ways! Look at our outdoor learning section to see!
Art Day!
Tuesday 15th October 2019
We have been exploring self portraits to develop a range of techniques in using line, shape, form and space. We spoke about our favourite portrait by a range of famous artists and wrote about why it was different from the others. Then we practiced painting methods and how to hold a paintbrush properly. In the afternoon we drew and painted our self portraits using mirrors to make sure our portraits were life like! Take a look at some of our designs and final pieces.
