Adventurers and Explorers

For our topic this half term we have diving deep into 'Adventurers and Explorers'.

 

We discussed as a class what key questions we wanted to learn about in our first session. Some of these included:

• What is the difference between the two?
• What similarities are there?
• What can be treasure?
• What traits do you need to have?
• Are we explorers?
• Who are the most famous explorers?
• Can girls be explorers? (I'll answer this one here. Yes!)

 

We have also started to use compasses to navigate ourselves around the school field. Children in 4M used North, South, East and West to attempt to find the lost treasure of Handford Hall!

4M have also enjoyed creating their own P.E games using the compasses to instruct and direct a class mate to find 'the treasure'.

 

4M students have created some wonderful treasure maps that include directions and their own personal treasures. See below for some examples.
