Outdoor Education with Mrs Cockroft
Outdoor Education is an approach to education that embraces the outdoors as a learning environment. It is about children experiencing regular sessions in a designated outdoor site. Children follow a programme of activities that will raise self-esteem ,develop confidence, independence, language and communication skills. Children will learn to assess and manage risks and develop life long learning skills.
Outdoor education has physical, social and health benefits; helping young people to enjoy physical activity outdoors in increasingly sedentary lives. At Handford Hall we are very fortunate to have outdoor areas within the school grounds. Outdoor learning takes place every Friday morning in all weathers and all seasons.
