Using multiplication facts to scale up.When we are cooking for lots of people, sometimes we need to make larger quantities. We can use doubling and times tables to scale up a recipe. Look at these learning reminders to see how.

Comparing different versions of the same story
Here is Daedalus’s Diary entry when he thinks that Icarus is lost at sea.
- Read the diary entry
But wait – Icarus is safe! He was picked up from the sea by a fishing boat and taken home to Athens.
On the lined paper, write Icarus’s diary entry, explaining what happened from his point of view and how he feels about having not listened to his father’s advice.
What does Icarus decide he will do the next morning?
- Now write Icarus’s diary entry, detailing what happened to him and saying how much he regrets not listening to his Dad.
