Monday to Thursday:

Now it is time to change the animal in the story! What animal would you like to come round for tea? A lion? A spider? A rabbit? A monkey? Decide on your animal and practice retelling the story with your changed animal throughout the week.

Can your child answer questions about the sequence of the instructions? What happens first? Next? After That?

Can they have a go at writing some sentences from the story?

e.g. First, Sophie and her Mummy were having tea at the table.

Next, there was a knock at the door!

Friday:

Can you rewrite your changed story with a different animal who came to tea? Use the picture sequence below and the vocabulary sheets above to help you.
