Our School Family Link Worker - Miss Kirby

As a school, we understand that many children and families experience difficult times which can sometimes make a happy and successful school and home life a struggle.  If you have worries about your child, connected with school work, it is always best to discuss these with the class teacher as they will know your child and can work with you to address any issues. 

Sometimes, there are other problems that parents or carers need some help with. 
As the SFLW, I can help to strengthen relationships and communication between home, school and other services.  I can offer one-to-one confidential and non-judgemental support and work together with parents and carers to help make things better for their family. If I can’t help directly, I am able to signpost or refer parents and carers to appropriate support.  Here are just some examples of the things I can help with: 

o   Getting to school on time and having good attendance

o   Supporting parents and carers to ‘get involved’ with school life

o   Bereavement and loss

o   New starts and settling in

o   Accessing adult education (eg NVQs, English classes)

Please come and see me outside school playground in morning drop off and afternoon pick up, or call me at the school or make an appointment to see me.
