3/4M Summer Term 2019

In April, we visited the Suffolk Farm Show at Trinity Park. The children had an exciting day learning about farm animals, finding out about farming, veterinary science and the many careers associated with farming. They were even able to hold chicks, stroke lambs and calves and watch a sheep being sheared! The photographs show some of the fabulous things we did.

Ipswich Museum visit

As our entry point for the topic 'Ancient Egyptians', we visited the Ipswich Museum. We were fascinated by the sarcophagus and mummies and keen to find out more about life in Ancient Egyptian times.

Maths at The Mansion

On 21st May, we visited Christchurch Mansion where we used our mathematical skills to prepare for an imaginary visit by Queen Elisabeth 1. We used our measuring skills to work out how much dough we would need to make pie lids for 100 guests, how many floorboards we would need to replace a crooked floor with a new, smooth one and how many bricks we would need to build an extension to the mansion. We used a range of equipment including compasses, protractors, clinometers and measuring tapes. It was a fabulous day out and helped us to understand why we need maths and how we use it in everyday life. have a look at the photographs of us learning.
