ANCIENT ROMANS

We have been acting as researchers to study the Ancient Romans and the impact they have had on us.  Our first challenge was to build different Roman architecture using only cardboard and tape (it was also our first challenge working as a team.)  We had some great results: the problem solving was stunning! 

MATHS

We are really pushing to ensure that each child in the class develops instant recall of all multiplication facts by the Christmas holiday.  It is really important that the children keep up with their training at home:  multiplication grids, Rock Stars and Grid Club.  Trust me - 5 minutes a day and we will crack it!

We have had a great start to the year - I think I am lucky enough to have the best class in the school (but don't tell anyone else!)   The children are getting used to a new year group and are taking on every challenge that is thrown at them!  As a class, we have been developing our team work skills; I know by the end of the year we will have a very strong team.  I am looking forward to the fantastic year ahead.
