It rains / It’s raining. It’s fine. It’s hot. It’s cold. It snows / It's snowing. It’s windy. It’s sunny. |
We can use this vocabulary to describe what the weather is like at different times of the year.
For example:
En janvier, il neige.
In January, it snows.
Remember that en means in when we are talking about times of the year.
Also remember:
- Words for months in French do not begin with a capital.
- Words for months in English do begin with a capital.
Choose either activity (a) or (b)
(a) Translate the French sentences into English.
En mars, il fait du vent.

En juillet, il fait chaud.

En décembre, il fait froid.
|
En mai, il fait beau.
|
En avril, il pleut.
|
Then write some sentences of your own to describe the weather during different months of the year.
(b) Make a poster in French to describe the weather in the different months of the year, using the sentence structure above.
