Good morning 3/4K

Welcome to a new week of learning. In maths this week we will be looking at number patterns when we count in 4s and 8s, recalling division facts and exploring angles and turns in geometry.

In English, we are looking at some animal stories, making lists and punctuating dialogue between characters. In our last week of our topic, we will look at another group of invaders that settled in  different parts of Britain during the Anglo-Saxon period of history. They are the VIKINGS and they were warriors!

Enjoy your learning and remember to send pictures of your work, including your model of your Anglo-Saxon houses; your model is  fantastic Filip!. Remember to do some exercise every day and have some time to relax. Perhaps you can try the Calm-ME- Time activity on our class page.

This week we are looking at animal stories and using commas for lists. 

Listen to Wilf Merttens tell a fantasy story about a little story that didn't want to be told. The Red Gold Dragon, named for his beautiful red scales and golden heart, is a marvellous storyteller. One day he tries to tell a story to three merchant mice, but the story refuses to be told! He seeks advice from a clever cat.

1. Highlight or point out the commas and the word and that separate the items in the list of what the mice found on Monday.
2. The commas in the lists of things they found on Wednesday and Friday have been missed out. With a coloured pen, add the commas in in the correct places. You can do this by copying the sentences into your book.
3. Check with the Answers page to see if you put them in the right places.

1. Think about where they went on each day.
2. Think about what four things they collected each day.
3. Think about who they sold one of their things to each day
4. Record your ideas.
